I skipped school today.
I already had the notes and it was more applications of derivatives, which I'm pretty much ok with. That and the social events last night were fun.
I went to the international students karaoke thing, and they were having a hard time getting it started. Somehow the spanish-speaking students ended up in the front of the room, with one or two badly singing YMCA, and the rest dancing around to it. Not bad entertainment :)
Then, since a number of the international students there are in my grad program, we went to a bar called Nick's English Hut, dragging along some random international students with us, to meet up with the other Math Campers. I'd bet that at least half the students came, so I met some new people, one named Rachel that I hope to hang out with more in the future, and generally had a grand ol' time. I mentioned Carlos yesterday... if you couldn't tell, I have a big crush on him. ;)
Tomorrow is the last day of Math Camp (yay, integrals!) and the bbq at our professor's house. I'm bringing the mustard and a dessert. Weird, but I didn't feel like just bringing the mustard. Maria from Colombia will be making fried plantains, so I'm looking forward to trying them!
Oooh - my bed arrived today! I'm so excited!! I put it up on risers so I could store things underneath, and it's so tall I almost have to jump up to get on it. Griffin likes the spaces underneath where he can hide. Tonight I get to sleep on a bed instead of an air mattress! Yay!
Now I'm off to the veggie restaurant with my roomie and her friend Brandon for dessert before we go see the movie about the 40 year old virgin. Poor guy.
